Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) 2026
The Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) is an esteemed
international scientific competition and one of the oldest in history,
with the first global competition held in 1959. Over 100 countries from
around the world participate. It is considered one of the most prestigious
competitions globally, focusing on logic, algorithms, algebra, geometry,
and number theory.
Preliminary Round
The preliminary round is offered in both Arabic and English and consists
of 25 questions to be completed in 1.5 hours. It will be conducted either
in person or online and is scheduled for the month of
April, according to the Ministry
of Education’s calendar.
Final Round
The final round is in English. A printed dictionary is allowed during the
competition. It will take place in
August, either in person in Hong
Kong or online at a hotel in Amman, Jordan. The round will consist of 30
questions with a duration of 120 minutes.
