The Wonderland English Bees (WEB) Olympiad is an international English language competition dedicated to enhancing language proficiency, fostering cross-cultural connections, and rewarding academic excellence among students aged 6 to 19.
This Olympiad offers a comprehensive learning journey that covers grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and writing skills, with participants competing in two exciting rounds: the International Qualifiers and the Global Finals.
The WEB Olympiad is designed to provide a unique cultural experience, encouraging students to broaden their perspectives by connecting with peers from around the world. This competition merges academic growth with global friendships, cultivating an environment where students can deepen their understanding of other cultures and strengthen mutual respect.
The Global Finals bring together top-performing students from the International Qualifiers for an in-person competition held in Hurghada, Egypt, at a luxurious Red Sea resort. This beautiful setting offers not only rigorous exams but also thrilling activities, all aimed at enhancing cultural integration and fostering mutual understanding.
The WEB Olympiad is open internationally to students aged 6 to 19 years old. The WEB Olympiad is structured across six levels, ensuring that each participant competes in a category suited to their age and English proficiency.

Participants have the option to compete in a category higher than their current grade level if they choose, but they cannot compete in a lower category. This flexibility allows ambitious students to challenge themselves at a higher proficiency level.

A placement test is available for students to take to assess their English proficiency level. The test evaluates grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Focused on improving English for STEM subjects.
Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), this course integrates communication strategies, grammar and lexical use, academic structure, helping students gain confidence in their expression.
This Web preparation course option can also be purchased separately or as part of a Web + STEM preparation package.
The exam begins with the International Qualifier, held online from May to June. Components include multiple-choice questions pulled from areas such as grammar, vocabulary, reading, and sentence structure.
The exam content consists of multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, rewriting tasks, short answer format.
To honor participants for their persistence, dedication, and commitment to mastering English, the top 10% of Global Finalists in each category are awarded special certificates.
Winners of Global level recognition will receive a Medal and Certificate, thus indicating 10% nationwide success and providing a motivational boost for the students.
Medalists are also invited to participate in the Global Finals, providing them with an exciting opportunity to compete on an international stage.
The Global Finals Qualifiers (for performing across and invitation from the Qualifier for a student’s potential and promise in English) have an international level of exposure.
The exam format includes multiple-choice, short answer, and fill-in-the-blanks with focus on grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, and more.
