About
iTech is a primary competition category within the iWISE Olympiad (International World Innovative Student Exhibition). It is designed to bridge the gap between imagination and technology, encouraging students to use digital tools to solve real-world problems.
Organized by iWise.org, this category is distinct from the pure “Robotics” or “STEM” tracks because it focuses heavily on software, digital art, and user-centric design. Key Competition Categories
The iTech track is divided into specialized fields to accommodate different technical and artistic interests:
Software & Application Development
Web & Mobile Apps: Designing and coding functional applications that address specific community or global needs.
Game Design: Developing original video games, focusing on mechanics, storytelling, and user engagement.
AI & Machine Learning: Creating projects that utilize artificial intelligence to process data or automate complex tasks.
Digital Arts & Multimedia
Graphic Design: Professional branding, typography, and layout design for digital platforms.
Computer Animation: Short films or educational clips created through 2D or 3D animation software.
Digital Illustration: High-level concept art and digital paintings that showcase technical mastery of creative software.
The Competition Process
Preparation: Students identify a problem or a creative concept and develop a digital solution (prototype, app, or artwork).
Virtual Selection: Participants present their projects remotely to a panel of international judges, explaining their technical process and the impact of their work.
Global Finals: Top-ranking participants are invited to exhibit their work at international venues, where they compete for global rankings and medals.
Evaluation Standards
Projects are assessed based on a rigorous set of standards to ensure high-quality outcomes:
Innovation: The uniqueness of the idea and the creative approach to problem-solving.
Technical Execution: The quality of the code, the stability of the software, or the precision of the digital design.
User Experience (UX): How intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing the final product is for the end-user.
Presentation: The student’s ability to articulate their development journey and defend their technical choices.
Participant Benefits
Global Recognition: Medals and certificates that validate technical skills on an international stage.
University Pathways: Access to potential scholarships and academic discounts at partner higher-education institutions.
Portfolio Building: A concrete, judged project that can be used for future university and career applications.
